Ode to a Rock

Rock Haikus written by my 6th grade science classes.

Layered and Heavy,
Tan, gray, black, and shimmery,
My rock is unique.                             Lindsay P.

Super sparkly rock,
Multicolored platform rocks
With different forms.                         Thomas W.

Brown, bumpy, rough rock,
Layered heavy like ice cream,
It is shiny and small.                         Mercedes M.

Flat at the bottom,
And it's oh so sparkly,
Crazy rock indeed!                           Tazia H.

It's an igneous,
with a slightly pink texture,
that's a bit silver.                               Taylor L.

Sedimentary,
Is rough as a cement wall,
Sparkles like a star.                           Brianna  A.

Glistening and white,
Rough but smooth on the bottom,
Heated, squeezed to one.                  Luke T.

Metamorphic rock,
Shiny with tiny crystals,
What an awesome sight!                   Tyler  D.

Sedimentary,
You can use it to write with.
It is white and coarse.                       Nick  S.

My Raggedy Rock

Very scratchy, yet
Shiny, splashed with white spots, and
Light brown, raggedy                         Olivia H.

Rough, scratchy feeling,
Black splotches, pink, orange, gray,
Wobbly, heavy                                   Jade H.

Shiny and sparkly,
Looks like it's from the Stone
Ages, rough and light                        Sarissa G.

Red and black and white,
My rock is heavy and smooth.
It is oddly shaped.                             Nick M.

It has a black spot.
It sparkles in the light bright.
I can see the grains.                         Victoria R.

It looks like chocolate,
But is very hard and rough,
and is very light.                              Billy J.

An igneous rock
Has little shiny pieces.
It is kind of rough.                            Melaina M.

My rock has shiny
Crystals. It has dark and light
Layers. It's a rock.                            Jacob A.

My rock is shiny.
It sparkles in the sunlight.
It is smooth to touch.                        Oscar M.

Sure My Rock

Sure my rock is black.
Sure my rock has an odd shape.
Sure my rock is smooth.                    Nick S.

In the lake it goes.
Rock flows aglow as it rows.
Down, down, down it goes!                Bill  D.

It has shiny small
Crystals. They look like atoms,
Pink as a bunny!                              Adrianna F.

This rock has layers.
It also looks like chocolate.
It also looks like domes.                  Mya N.
